Lubavitchers in Thailand take on Nigerian bankers

Hardly anyone last week could escape emails from Habad in Thailand asking for urgent Tsunami relief. Given the magnitude of the tragedy I asked a Lubavitcher friend in Shule on Friday: "What exactly Lubavitch is doing in the aftermath of the disaster? I know they take pictures" His response was "You dont understand there could be a lot of problems with Agunas (husbands disappearing without a trace thereby preventing their wives from remarrying)."

Lets see there are reported four Israeli deaths. Lets assume that we have 10 missing Israelis or Jews after the Tsunami in Thailand. Lets say 5 (50% ) are men, may be 2 are married, one of the two perished together with his wife, this leaves only one man. So Lubavitch in Thailand sent emails to every Jew on the face of the earth because they have to find one man? I am certain that on any given year there are tents of Israelis who disappear from their Yentas back home to enjoy what that great country has to offer... But looking for them is not that interesting.
